Max Factor Miracle Touch Foundation ♥

Good afternoon ladies, i hope you are all well and enjoying the lovely weather this weekend.

After all these years of searching for the perfect foundation i think I've finally found the right one for me! ^_^

This foundation is so creamy and smooth and I'm in love with it and i just wanted to share it with you. A full review of this will be coming up once I've had chance to use it for a little longer since this is only my second day of wearing it.

What is your go to foundation for this summer?

Collective Haul ♥

I really have been such a bad blogger lately and I'm so sorry! I really am going to try to make more of an effort to do at least a couple of blog posts a week because i don't just want to throw it all away after I've put so much effort into it. Despite my long absence i actually really do enjoy doing this, i just haven't had the motivation recently to write any posts but i think I've had a long enough break from this now and i think i need to really stop being lazy and get some motivation back! *slaps wrists*

On with the post then.. I've decided to do a little collective haul of a few things that I've bought recently, if you'd like a review on any of the products please feel free to leave me a comment. :)

From left to right: Sally Hansen Hard as Nails with Nylon, O.P.I Alice in Wonderland Mini Nail Lacquers (My first o.p.i nail polishes! :) I love them!)

Top: Cleansing Sponges, i thought I'd try these instead of a muslin cloth, I'm really liking them so far!
Bottom left to right: Maybelline Super Stay 24 Hour Foundation in 005 Light Beige, Loreal Infallible Foundation in 120 Vanilla. I'm still on the hunt for the perfect foundation and so far I'm really liking the new Maybelline one, the Loreal Infallible is a little too dark for me but it did suit me last summer so maybe I'll be able to wear it again this summer.

Left to right: Dermalogics Cocoa Body Butter, and Dermalogics Coconut Body Butter. I'm really loving these, they smell delicious and they were only 99p each from BodyCare.

Thanks for reading, commenting, and following! And thank you for sticking with me whilst I've been absent! <3 :)

17 & Natural Collection Haul ♥

If you read my last post you will know i have been having a foundation crisis which got me to thinking. I used Boots 17 foundations all throughout high school and i never had a problem with them and my skin was perfect back then.

Its only in the past few years since I've started to try out new foundations and products on my face that my skin has gone down hill and I've been suffering from breakouts which i really don't understand because i never used to take care of my skin properly back then, all i used were face wipes to take off my makeup (usually in the morning after sleeping in it too) and that was about it, i never used a moisturiser or even a proper face wash. I understand that your skin can change as you age but why not go back to basics and see if it helps? So i popped into Boots today and picked up the 17 Skin Perfecting Shine Free Foundation with SPF 12 and I'm planning on changing my skin care routine to something simple because right now i think i use way too many products on my face, i just need to find something that works and stick to it!

I'd appreciate it if any of you have any suggestions on which face washes and scrubs i should take a look at, i have combination/oily skin and i think i want to go for something for sensitive skin because i think I'm way too harsh with my skin which probably isn't helping either.

Whilst in Boots i headed over to the Natural Collection stand because I've been hearing good things about the products from a lot of bloggers so i picked up a few nail polishes in Shimmer Pink, Topaz, and Lunar Haze. I'm not very impressed with these, if you can see from the picture how much of the Shimmer Pink i have used trying to get it to go on not streaky and then taking it off and trying again and if you put too many layers on and it appears dry, its not, i can put my nail right through it which is slightly annoying. I think I'm going to go try again after i post this, I'm determined to like these because i love the colours! I'm definitely going to try some of their makeup products though, i have higher hope for those than the nail varnishes.

Foundation Help ♥

I need your help girls!

I'm really not liking any of my foundations right now! :( I find that my Max Factor Lasting Performance seems a little too dark for me and the Revlon Colourstay I'm not sure what it is about this but I'm not really liking it too much, i think it may be causing me to break out again. I think that both of these foundations make me look too pink. Well yes, my face is kind of pink but then when I've applied my foundation i look at my face compared to my neck and the rest of me seems more of a yellow undertone.

So what I'm trying to ask you ladies is if you have any foundation advice for me. I'm super pale, I'm 100 Fair in the Max Factor foundation which i think is a little too dark for me and 110 Ivory in the Revlon which i think is a better match if only it wasn't so pink. I want a foundation that is as long lasting as the Revlon Colourstay, a foundation that won't break me out and a foundation that suits my skin tone better and i want it at a drugstore price, i find that i go through foundation too quickly to be buying a high end foundation every few months and i just don't have the money to do that.

Any suggestions? I find it so hard to find a foundation that i really like and suits me at the same time with me being so pale, when it comes to drugstore foundations i think they tend to leave out the super pale and more darker ladies and focus more somewhere in the middle.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

A Small Haul ♥

I had to go shopping today to get my Dad a Birthday present, so i did a little shopping for myself too. Here's what i bought:

A Miss Sporty nail polish in a brown colour because all the nail polish i seem to own is either really bright or really dark and i just fancied something a little more neutral.

Revlon Colourstay foundation in ivory. I've tried this before and really liked it but i thought it was causing me to break out so i stopped using it but I've decided to give it another chance, especially since me and my cousin are planning a trip to Blackpool Pleasure Beach in February i want something i know will stay on my face all day.

Maybelline Colossal 100% black mascara. I really like the way Maybelline Colossal makes my lashes look but i always thought that it wasn't very black so i was really happy when they came out with a darker version.. I did actually intend to buy a waterproof mascara to go with the whole I'm going to a theme park so i really want my makeup to stay on thing but i just couldn't help myself.

I also stopped by WHSmiths and picked up two more books from the Morganville Vampires series because they're on buy one get one half price at the moment in my WHSmiths. I'm really enjoying this series and would recommend it to anyone who has an obsession with vampire books like me, haha!

Max Factor Lasting Performance Foundation ♥

I've been using this foundation now for a few weeks so i figured i would do a review on it since i think its been long enough for me to be able to give an honest opinion on it.

I love this foundation, i think that I've finally found my HG foundation! Which is amazing for me because I've been struggling with foundations for a while now, so now I'm very happy :) yay!

So lets start with why i love this foundation:
- It doesn't break me out, or at least it hasn't so far and i think it would have by now if it was going to.
- It lasts all day, and doesn't transfer onto my clothes.
- It's a good colour for me which is amazing because i find it really difficult finding good foundation colours since I'm so pale.
- It doesn't look cakey at all.
- It dries quite fast to a matte finish which i really like.
- It has really good coverage and i only need to use a light layer of it.

Now for some things that i don't like about this foundation:
- It doesn't control oil as good as the Revlon Colourstay foundation did but its fine if you use a good oil control moisturizer underneath or an oil control primer.
- The bottle, you have to squeeze the foundation out which means if you get too much you can't put it back. I still prefer foundations with pumps, but this foundation is amazing so it more than makes up for it. :)

I would definitely recommend this foundation, i love Max Factor i think they have very good quality products.

P.S. ELF haul coming soon, i just ordered! Yay! :D

Im baacck + Haul ♥

I'm back from my boyfriends and I'm so happy, when i left i had 5 followers and now i have 9 :D I know its not a lot but it makes me happy that people are actually reading this! I didn't think anyone would read this at all when i started so i just want to say a big thank you! :)

On with my haul then, it's not much but i thought I'd share.

Firstly i got Max factor Lasting Performance foundation and i wore it yesterday and i love it so far, I'm just hoping that it won't break me out like the Revlon Colourstay did.
Next i got a backup of Gosh Darling since mine is running out, and a backup of Max Factor False Lash Effect, because that's also running out and i love it. I don't usually buy the same mascara twice unless i really like it, i was going to try Loreal Telescopic but the brush (from the picture anyway, i didn't actually see the real brush) looks really thin and flimsy and i much prefer bigger brushes so i went with this one again.

And lastly i found these Rimmel Lipglosses in the pound shop so of course i had to get them since they were only £1. I got them in 174 Glimmer, which is a clear gloss with glitter in it, and 100 Purity which is a really nice light lilac/pink colour, it doesn't really give much colour on the lips but it does give a nice lilacy sheen. I really like the consistency of these, its really thick and sticky which makes it last a while on the lips.

Pure Review ♥

I've been using my Pure stuff for a few days now so i figured i would do a review.. I'm going to start with the foundation, i really really really wanted to like this foundation but i just can't! :( The consistency is too thick, it doesn't work well with my 187 brush, when applied it doesn't give that much coverage I'd say light to just barely medium coverage, it goes on okay but after a while it looks as if i have dry areas on my face and i just really hate it and I'm annoyed because i keep buying foundations in the hope that I'm going to like them and they're starting to stack up. The only good thing i have to say about this foundation is that it has a nice smell, i think it smells of apricot.

On the other hand i really like the blushes they're pretty pigmented, i really like the Shimmer Pink it doesn't look as bright as it does in the pot, when applied it just gives a nice pinky glow to the cheeks. The Peach is also nice it looks really natural, its a little powdery but it doesn't look powdery once it's on your cheeks.

I think i would try more products from Pure in the future.. Just maybe not their foundations, i think I'm going to try Max Factor Lasting Performance foundation next.

Pure Haul ♥

Yay, my Pure stuff arrived this morning! I'm very excited about this as I'm still searching for the perfect foundation, so i had a look on the Boots website and found this one and of course it was buy two get one free so i had to try some of their other products so i picked out two blushes in Peach and Shimmer Pink since I'm loving blush at the moment, i wasn't expecting the pink to be so bright but it actually looks really lovely and i can't
wait to try it!
I've never actually heard of Pure before and I've not heard anyone talk about it either but it does look like a really good brand. It's a little more expensive than your typical drugstore brands but not quite as expensive as high end brands, the foundation is £14.19 and the blushes are £7.83 each and the packaging is really good too, its kind of rubbery a bit like NARS i guess although I've never owned any NARS products, and the foundation bottle is made of plastic which i think is better than glass as it won't break as easily if you drop it, and it also has a pump which is definitely a good thing!

Anyway I'm off to try out my new makeup, thanks for reading and don't forget to follow me! :) Charlotte. xx

Foundation Rambleings..

Okay so my first official blog about something a little more interesting lol.. yes I'm going to talk about foundation, especially foundation in the summer time.

So.. Most of you girlie's will all be wearing lighter foundations now that summer is here, its time to get the tinted moisturizers out.. Well you lucky people because i cannot do this! If i even try to wear a tinted moisturizer in the summer its just going to melt off my face when i get hot. So instead of reaching for the tinted moisturizer I've been on the search for a good long wear foundation because these things are designed to stay on your face even when you get hot and sweaty, so let me fill you in on what I've tried so far:

Revlon Colourstay foundation - This i thought was the perfect solution, the colour was perfect, it didn't make me oily, and most importantly it stayed on my face BUT it broke me out, and gave me those nasty little flesh coloured bumps on my chin which makes me think i might be allergic to something in it?

Loreal Paris Infallible Foundation - I did not like this at all, the formula was thick, it felt thick on my face, it made me oily, and then when my face would get oily if i touched that area it would come right off.. Not good!

Maybelline Superstay Silky Foundation: I've only been using this for a few days but so far i like it, it doesn't make me too oily (a little shine at the end of the day), it stays on my face, no bumps or breakouts. The only problem i have with this is that its a little dark but that's okay since its summer time and I'm going to be getting a little darker.

So, there is a purpose to this post.. I want to know if anyone has any suggestions for a good long wear foundation, and I'm willing to pay for a higher brand up to about £20 but i don't really want to spend more than that, something that won't make me oily (i have an oily t-zone), and something that is good for sensitive skin and won't break me out.. So if anyone is reading this, i know its only my second post and i really doubt anyone has stumbled across this yet but i can try can't i? :)

Thanks for reading.
